Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the second and final ODI in Colombo on Friday (February 14pogo88, 2025). This is the last game the Aussies will play, before heading to Lahore for the start of the Champions Trophy. The Lankans did not qualify for the 50-over showpiece.

Sri Lanka have a 1-0 lead in the series, courtesy a 49-run win over Steve Smith's Australia in the opener and can sweep the series with another victory today. Captain Asalanka scored a gutsy century to carry his team to a 214-run total, and mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana then picked up four wickets for 40 runs to help defend the total comfortably.

On Tuesday, deep inside Chinese Mongolia, the Harmanpreet Singh-led Men in Blue did just about enough to beat a spirited Chinese side. The occasion: the final of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024.

India, the most successful team in the competition, now have five titles, including back-to-back triumphs in 2023 and 2024. The victory adds to their bronze medal secured at the Paris Olympic Games last month.

Australia, who are without regular skipper Pat Cummins for the Champions Trophy, will meet arch-rivals England for their first match in the marquee event in Pakistan. As for Sri Lanka, today's match is their last 50-over assignment for a while.
